Threadless VS Threaded Compensators

Because of the rarity of threadless compensators for the 92 series, I thought it would be prudent to make a blog post explaining the differences!

Firstly, I’ll go over the basics of threaded compensators so that we have a base for what we’re comparing…

Threaded compensators need hand-fitting for your specific barrel before installation – That means shipping parts of your gun to a gunsmith, waiting for him to do the work, as well as paying for the shipping!

The benefits of this installation method are pretty obvious, anyone can understand off-the-bat that having a hand-fitted compensator for your gun isn’t a bad thing. However…

You also have to buy a threaded barrel from Beretta if you don’t already have one – and that can cost upwards of $300 if they’re even in stock!

The process of buying a threaded barrel and the compensator, then shipping it all to a gunsmith can be very, very pricey. Especially if anything goes wrong at any point!

With threadless compensators, no hand-fitting is required and the entirety of the installation process can be done by the owner of the gun with simple hand tools.

Not only that, but it makes your compensator compatible with any other gun that it’s meant to be used with!

Let’s say you have a 92FS and a 92S. Or maybe a 92X and an M9A1.

My compensators for the 92S also fit the 92FS.

My compensators for the 92X also fit the M9A1 and the GTS!

That means that by buying my compensator, you could have a comp for two guns instead of just one!

Not only that, but the additional labor cost and shipping cost of installation make my compensator the cheaper option overall!

The benefits of using threadless compensators can be a bit hard to see past that, but there’s one more key design aspect I want to bring attention to here.

The GG-92 is the perfect compensator for private security operators, police officers, and militias!

The reasons are that the installation can be handled with minimal training and that installation requires no permanent modification to the firearm!

It also means that the compensator will run with your original manufacturer spring and doesn’t add any weight to the slide! Stock ammo runs perfectly with threadless compensators generally speaking!

That means GG-92’s can be ordered in batches, shipped, and installed at will rather than the lengthy and costly process of obtaining and installing a threaded compensator.

But not only that, the GG-92 has an amazing feature that threaded compensators are unable to possess because of their inherent design!

And if any hand fitting is required which it usually isn’t it can be done with simple hand tools by the consumer! Any threaded compensator requires a full-blown milling machine to hand-fit!

The GG-92 also functions as a stand-off device! Stay tuned for my next post or look on the GG-92’s product page to learn more about that!
